Sleeping on the way to our play date with Bryce and Chase
A dear friend gave me this mug at my last job, and I still use it almost every morning. I know that no matter what, the title holds true.
It is officially the week of Christmas and the hustle and bustle are in high gear. People rushing around the stores to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones, Salvation Army bells ringing aplenty, the ripping of the wrapping paper and children with the sparkle in their eye in the anticipation of Santa coming.
Amidst all of this Christmas cheer, I realized that I have already received the best Christmas presents that I could ever receive.
I am most thankful to be able to spend another Christmas with my mother when the doctor at Fox Chase said that we wouldn’t even see last Christmas with her, let alone this one. She keeps fighting and isn’t willing to give up, so thank God she is still with us. She is our Christmas miracle.
Chris is also one of the best gifts. How many guys do you know who would sell their home, leave their jobs and uproot everything that they knew to move in with their mother in law and help care for her? Not many. However, I thank God every day for him.
Of course I am thankful for Jack. Last year, he was just two weeks old on Christmas day, and this year, he will open his first Christmas presents and experience the magic that Santa brings.
I love my gifts, especially being able to spend another Christmas with my mother. I couldn’t ask for more.
Merry Christmas and have a blessed and healthy New Year!
